The problem with placement guarantees, and what to look for instead
Almost every remote sales course promises a job or your money back. Here is what that guarantee actually means in practice, and the questions that expose whether it is real.
Nearly every course in this space leads with some version of a placement guarantee. Get hired or your money back. It sounds like the ultimate risk reversal. In practice, it is one of the easiest promises in the industry to make and one of the hardest to make honestly.
How a guarantee like this actually gets funded
A guarantee is only as real as the business model behind it. If a course charges everyone the same price and promises a refund to anyone who is not placed, that refund has to come from somewhere. Usually it comes from a definition of placement so loose it barely means anything, or from margins built on the assumption that most people will not chase the refund even when they are entitled to it.
Neither of those is a business built around your outcome. Both are businesses built around the sale.
The questions that expose a weak guarantee fast
Ask exactly what counts as placement. A single unpaid trial shift technically satisfies most published guarantees. Ask how many people in the last cohort actually claimed the guarantee, and how many were told they did not qualify because of some condition buried in the terms. Ask whether the guarantee depends on you attending a percentage of sessions or submitting exercises, conditions that are reasonable on their own but become a convenient exit for the company when combined with a vague definition of success.
A company confident in its own outcomes will answer all three questions specifically and immediately. One that hedges is telling you something.
What actually protects you instead
A real placement pathway is not a refund clause. It is an active, working relationship with companies that are genuinely hiring, and a track record you can check. It is training built around live practice and reviewed feedback rather than a video library, because the guarantee means nothing if the skill was never really taught.
This is why HTCA does not lead with a blanket placement guarantee. What we offer instead is a genuine introduction pathway through PrimeClosers, our sister placement agency, once you have certified. Not a promise. A real relationship with businesses actively hiring, which is worth more than a refund clause you will likely never successfully claim.
